Christopher Closeup: Stories of Hope
“It’s better to light one candle than to curse the darkness.”
The heart of our message
The Christophers’ mission is to encourage all people to use their God-given talents to make a positive difference in the lives of others – to light candles of hope during the sometimes dark and difficult times of life.
For decades, Christopher Closeup programs have introduced people who have done just that – the famous and not-so-famous whose actions make a better world.
Here are the stories of some of the guests interviewed on Christopher Closeup radio – tales of hope alive and shining through positive, life-affirming actions and attitudes.
Love at the yard sale
Singer Amy Grant thinks money is nice to give, but, she says, “so much more than that is our time, our ideas, our encouragement.”
When a friend whose son had cerebral palsy asked for help in paying medical bills, Grant decided to organize a giant yard sale. “Bring your trash, bring your treasures” was her plea.
