Thomas Alva Edison, the renowned creator of the light bulb, the phonograph and other inventions, had a huge laboratory complex in New Jersey. The day after it was destroyed by fire, he said, “There is great value in disaster. All our mistakes are burned up. Thank God we can start anew.”
He rebuilt and went on to acquire an amazing 1,093 patents in his lifetime.
Attitude is more than how we look at life; it’s how we choose to live. Whether we consider ourselves born optimists or have to struggle to see a glass that’s half-full, we can always choose to “start anew.” Being positive not only helps us accomplish our goals, but also seek happiness.
