“God is love and that love unites all of us as brothers and sisters. Our faith – whatever it is – should witness to that.” --Father Khalid Rashid
No matter what our faith or how we pray, we are connected through our creation by a God who loves us and wants us to love one another. We are, indeed, all God’s children.
According to a recent Newsweek poll, 91 percent of American adults say they believe in God and almost as many – 87 percent – say they identify with a specific religion.
Religions have diverse creeds, traditions, attitudes or goals. We misunderstand and diminish our own beliefs and others’ if we think they are essentially the same. Yet, men and women of all faiths and of no faith deserve – and owe each other – the gift of tolerance.
As we follow the teachings and tenets of our own religion, we need to overcome ignorance or fear about others. Being faithful to the Love that brought us into being promotes peace – no matter how different our values and perspectives.
