If you are homebound, a caregiver for a homebound person, or if you know those who are, you are not alone. In fact, you may not realize just how much company you have. Around the country, people are starting to acknowledge the growing population involved with caregiving.
According to a study by the National Alliance for Caregiving and AARP, more than 50 million Americans providing care for loved ones over the age of 18. An additional 10 million Americans provide fulltime care for children with special needs under the age of 18.
But being a caregiver, or a homebound person, isn’t about statistics. It’s about ordinary people in trying circumstances doing the best they can.
