The Christophers invoke the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary to bring an end to the
Coronavirus pandemic. We are doing our part to stem the tide of the spread of this illness here in
New York by keeping our offices closed and working remotely.
This month we celebrate the feast days of Saint Bernadette of Lourdes and Saint Louis de
Montfort. Bernadette experienced Marian apparitions in France over several months in 1858 in which the Blessed Mother identified herself as the “Immaculate Conception,” confirming a recent dogma declared by the Church. Healing waters sprang from the grotto where the apparitions took place and many miracles have been attributed to the experiences of faith of the pilgrims who have visited ever since. Even though Lourdes is closed to visitors right now, the healing power of faith in Mary’s intercession remains with us.
Saint Louis de Montfort was a French priest of the late 17th and early 18th centuries who preached about the importance of devotion to Mary and praying the rosary. May Saints Louis and Bernadette intercede for the world to increase devotion to our Blessed Mother so that her intercession will touch people’s hearts and lend protection to the most vulnerable among us.
During this time, we especially remember those on the front lines of this crisis – doctors, nurses, and everyone assisting our medical professionals, and all of their families. We honor their service and pray for their health and safety.
Thanks to our donors for the kind letters and support. Entrusting the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we look to the future with hope and to a world at peace in God’s healing love. God bless!
