2021 Books for Young People:

Call for Entry

It's time for our 2021 Christopher Awards Call for Entry!

Dear Friends,

We hope you are staying safe and healthy.

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic this year, we are currently only accepting emailed submissions of your 2021 Christopher Awards entries. If you would like to submit pdfs or download links, please send the email to t.rossi@christophers.org to pass on for judging.

Please review our Christopher Awards’ Backgrounder and recent winners’ list, and submit your 2021 fiction and nonfiction titles that fit our criteria by November 16.

To be eligible, books for young people must be original titles published in the 2021 calendar year. There are no entry forms for you to fill out and no entry fees.

Your 2021 books will be read and reviewed by a panel of media and subject specialists and Christopher staff members. The 73rd annual Christopher Award winners will be announced in Spring 2022. They will go to writers, producers, directors and illustrators in the publishing, film, broadcast TV and cable industries.

Reminder: We read submissions continually throughout the year, so please add us to your seasonal mailing list, and send appropriate titles as soon as they are published.

Thank you for your continuing support of our Christopher Awards program!

“Receiving the Christopher Award for our first ‘Here’s Hank’ book, ‘Bookmarks Are People Too’, was such a meaningful acknowledgment of our commitment to getting reluctant readers to pick up a book and laugh their way through it.   We believe laughter is the perfect light switch to illuminate a child’s path into literature.   We were honored and grateful to have been chosen and will continue to support the belief that reading and education can lead us all from darkness to light.”  - Henry Winkler and Lin Oliver
